The Monster That Ate Canberra is a childrens book written by Michael Salmon in 1972 and became a favorite of mine having moved to Canberra from Sydney as a child and discovering this book in my primary school library.  The book was reprinted in 1990 featuring new artwork and locations.  You can view Michaels Site here..

I personally suggest using an Elevation Exaggeration of 2 when viewing the map which you can find in Google Earth under the Tools > 3D View option.  I also strong suggest that you turn on the 3D buildings option for the ultimate Bunyip experience.  Read each page at your leisure and when you are ready to move on, simply double click the next page from the menu on the left and be magically transported to the next location.
